Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Mystic Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chone Key (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mystic Hammer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Chone Key!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Bruno Hogan and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Key shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hammer's guard.

Key stands up from Hammer's guard - Key perhaps looking for a knockout.
Key swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Nice combo by Key! Oh, that's hurt him - Hammer falls to the canvas and Key follows him into side control.

Key stands up and we're back to a striking position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A punch combination from Key misses.

Key changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hammer looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Hammer wants to control but Key postures up.
Hammer is breathing heavily.
Hammer is trying to buck Key off.

Hammer is looking for a sweep.

Key decides to stand back up.
Hammer with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Key to score with a decent uppercut.

Hammer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hammer lands in his opponent's guard.
Hammer wants to stand and escape but instead Key has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Hammer trying to keep a closed guard but Key is proving a slippery customer.
Hammer is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Key thows a big elbow that misses.
Hammer is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hammer is really struggling to control Key but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Hammer is wriggling around but Key manages to pass to half guard.
It looks like Key is going to stand back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Hammer has his takedown stuffed
and Hammer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Key is looking to clinch but Hammer is avoiding it.
Key throws a series of punches but Hammer moves out of range.
Hammer moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Key tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Key lands a lovely overhand right.

and Key counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Hammer's guard now.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Key wants to stand and escape but Hammer is having none of it.

Hammer decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Key, up you get!

Key rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hammer moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Key wants to clinch up but Hammer keeps it at a distance.

Hammer wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Key is now in half guard.

Key gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Key!
Hammer showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Key.
Key throws a right and a left that Hammer avoids nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chone Key dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Hammer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Key scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

and Hammer decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Key's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Key looks up at the clock and then as Hammer takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Key smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Key stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Key throws a leg kick but Hammer sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Key moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

and Hammer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Key's guard now.

Hammer passes Key's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Chone Key showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hammer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Hammer breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Chone Key seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hammer is trying to trip Key. He has hold of a leg but Key is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Hammer persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Hammer keeps control of Key as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Key is looking to break free of the clinch but Hammer has double underhooks.

Hammer manages to pull guard.
Key wants to pass the guard but Hammer is keeping the position.
Key passes into half guard.

Hammer is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Key pulls his head out easily.

Key stands up out of the half guard.

Key looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Key working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Key passes into side control, despite Hammer's attempt to control the position.

Hammer doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Key counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hammer won't be happy with that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Key trying to control the position but Hammer is working away.

Key decides to stand back up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hammer fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Chone Key comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Key has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
