And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles shoots in but no luck this time.
A decent looking cross lands there for Thomas.
Thomas misses with a wild body shot.
Charles on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.

Thomas gets caught flat footed, as Charles shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Thomas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Charles makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Thomas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Charles won't allow Thomas to sweep him here.

Charles postures up in Thomas's guard and throws a big left but Thomas blocks it.

Thomas manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Charles manages to get himself to full guard.
