PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Andy Souwer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kamil Czajkowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Czajkowski has chosen Best of the Best as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andy Souwer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kamil Czajkowski!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Eddie Farnsworth and Lou da Vinci.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Czajkowski misses with a combination

and Souwer counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Czajkowski's guard now.

Souwer stands up from Czajkowski's guard - Souwer perhaps looking for a knockout.

Souwer throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Czajkowski tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Souwer is in Czajkowski's guard.

Souwer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Czajkowski manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Souwer has Czajkowski in his guard.

Poor strikes thrown by Souwer there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Czajkowski manages to work a leg through to get back to half guard here. Good work there by Czajkowski, under a barage of strikes from Souwer.
Souwer wants to take a breather but Czajkowski is having none of it.
Souwer has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Souwer wants to free his trapped foot but Czajkowski is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Czajkowski is refusing to be controlled, as Souwer sits in half guard.
Souwer looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Czajkowski with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Souwer seems to be working for a kimura but Czajkowski defends the submission attempt.
Czajkowski tries to kick Souwer off in order to stand up. Souwer Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Souwer wants to lay and pray for a moment but Czajkowski keeps working.

Souwer tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Souwer has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Souwer throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Czajkowski works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Souwer looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Souwer seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Czajkowski throws a sloppy head kick and Souwer moves out of range easily.

Souwer gets a clinch.
Czajkowski prevents a takedown attempt there.
Czajkowski looking to throw knees to the head but Souwer is blocking nicely.

Czajkowski is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Czajkowski must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Souwer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Czajkowski stacks Souwer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Czajkowski!

Czajkowski tries to keep at a distance but Souwer has taken the fight into the clinch.
Czajkowski connects with a knee to the head.
Souwer fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Souwer goes for a takedown in the clinch but Czajkowski prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andy Souwer. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Czajkowski wants to break free but Souwer has control.
Czajkowski is trying to push Souwer away but Souwer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Souwer has Czajkowski pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Souwer pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Czajkowski tumbling to the mat - Souwer dives into Czajkowski's guard.

Souwer shoots in but Czajkowski avoids the takedown attempt easily.

and Souwer counters with a single leg into guard. Czajkowski didn't expect that.

Souwer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Czajkowski falls off balance throwing a combination

and Souwer moves into the clinch.
Souwer lands a body punch in the clinch.
Czajkowski tries to break free but Souwer pushes him back against the cage.

Souwer pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Czajkowski enables Souwer to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Czajkowski manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Souwer in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Souwer slows the pace down in half guard.
Souwer landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Souwer passes to side control.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Czajkowski is not content to let Souwer control the position.

Souwer is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Souwer moves into full mount! Czajkowski won't be happy about that!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Souwer lands a big shot there that rocks Czajkowski but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Czajkowski is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Souwer locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Czajkowski is forced to tap!
