The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Summer Carpenter and Donatello Bradman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Charles throws a right and a left that Takedown avoids nicely.
Takedown walks into a stiff left hand from Charles.
Charles lands a head kick. Takedown smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

It looks like Johny Takedown has been cut.
Takedown fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Charles sprawls well initially but Takedown persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Takedown is taking a breather. Charles says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Takedown prevents Charles from improving his position.
Takedown seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Johny Takedown.
Charles scoring well with a low kick there.
Takedown fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Charles looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
A slapping body kick lands there for Charles.
Takedown drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Charles connects with a high kick.
Charles throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Takedown's head.
Takedown is trying hard to land a takedown here. Charles sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Charles stuffs the takedown attempt from Takedown. Takedown gets slowly back to his feet.

Takedown takes a kick to the side of the head.
Charles buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Takedown looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Charles lands a left and a right that send Takedown crashing to the mat, dazed. Charles thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Takedown is rocked!
Charles drops Takedown with a huge uppercut! Takedown drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes. Charles is raining down punches and the ref stops the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joey Charles!
