The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ximeno closes the distance looking to clinch
and Vittorino counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Vittorino 's corner is telling him to maintain position.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vittorino accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vittorino trying to move into half guard but instead Ximeno has managed to sweep!
Ximeno wants to control from the top but Vittorino keeps moving.
Ximeno is really struggling to control Vittorino but he's trying to hold on to the position.
That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Vittorino is pulling down on Ximeno's head. It's preventing any offense from Ximeno, at least for the moment.
Vittorino looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Vittorino lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Ximeno!
Vittorino is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Ximeno can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
It looks like Custodio Ximeno has been cut.
