Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mieszko Szczygiel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcin Joz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Szczygiel rushes Joz and presses him up against the cage.

Szczygiel manages to break the clinch.
Joz has his takedown stuffed

and Szczygiel moves into the clinch.

Szczygiel has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Joz is trying to keep an underhook but Szczygiel manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Szczygiel seems to be looking for submissions.
Szczygiel wants to free his trapped foot but Joz is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Szczygiel is looking for a kimura here.
Szczygiel slows the pace down in half guard.
Szczygiel works his way into side control.

Szczygiel works to advance to full mount. Joz defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Joz tries to hold on but Szczygiel pushes him away.
Joz tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Joz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Szczygiel. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Szczygiel is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Joz has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Szczygiel has control of Joz's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Joz regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Joz is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Szczygiel goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Joz is on top in guard.
Joz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Szczygiel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Szczygiel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Szczygiel is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Joz sees it coming and defends easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Joz is holding on to half guard well.

Szczygiel seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Joz is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
