Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kamil Halman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Gaines (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chris Gaines will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kamil Halman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Chris Gaines!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halman looks for a takedown but Gaines sprawls well.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Halman.
Gaines moves in looking to clinch but Halman pushes him off.
A solid leg kick lands there for Gaines.
Kamil Halman seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halman tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Gaines cracks the inside of Halman's front leg.
Gaines throws a nice inside leg kick.
Gaines throws a head kick that Halman semi-blocks.
Gaines thuds his right hand into Halman's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Halman has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Gaines.

Halman tries for a takedown but Gaines sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kamil Halman. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gaines tries to clinch but Halman moves out of range.
Halman closes the distance and clinches up with Gaines, looking for a takedown. Halman pushes Gaines against the cage but Gaines circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Gaines connects with a leg kick. Halman looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Halman has a takedown stuffed.
Gaines is looking to clinch but Halman is avoiding it.
Gaines shoots for a takedown but Halman saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Good leg kick by Gaines there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Gaines tries to close the distance and clinch up but Halman swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Halman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Gaines counters with a solid body kick.
Halman is breathing heavily.

Gaines moves into the clinch successfully.

Gaines breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A slapping leg kick lands for Gaines.
Halman on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gaines feints and then cracks Halman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Halman down.
Gaines lands with a slapping head kick.
Gaines fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gaines throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Halman's head.
Gaines connects with an inside leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gaines throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Gaines turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.

Gaines gets a clinch.

Gaines manages to break the clinch.
Halman shoots in for a double leg but Gaines sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gaines is trying hard to land a takedown here. Halman sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gaines connects with a leg kick. Halman looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Gaines lands with a slapping head kick.
Gaines lands a nice looking body shot.
Gaines scores with a kick to the body.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Halman takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Halman takes a kick to the side of the head.
Gaines scores with a jab to the head.
Gaines catches Halman with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Gaines plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Gaines shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Halman sprawls well. Halman wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gaines gets slowly back to his feet.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Gaines has closed the distance and engaged Halman in a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chris Gaines dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gaines with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
A chopping leg kick lands by Gaines.
Gaines ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Kamil Halman is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Halman looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
That kick from Gaines tenderised Halman's leg. Halman is trying to keep his angry face on.
Halman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gaines can pounce on him.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Halman. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Gaines throws a nice head kick!
Halman keeps the fight on the outside.

Gaines gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Gaines landing some nice looking knees to the body.

Gaines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Halman takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Gaines turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Halman is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Gaines connects with the punch.

Gaines lands a knee to the head.

Gaines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
An inside leg kick lands from Gaines.
Halman takes a kick to the side of the head.
Gaines feints and then cracks Halman's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Halman down.

Gaines is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Gaines rushes Halman and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Halman takes a knee to the side of the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gaines lands a knee to the head.
Gaines landing knees to the head.

Gaines drops Halman with a big knee straight up the middle! Halman is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!


Halman is rocked!


It looks like Kamil Halman has been cut.
Gaines lands a big head kick that sends Halman to the canvas! Gaines follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Chris Gaines!
