Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kitsuomi Nanaka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shinobu Hayabusa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shinobu Hayabusa is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kitsuomi Nanaka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shinobu Hayabusa!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nanaka drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nanaka slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Nanaka in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Nanaka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Kitsuomi Nanaka wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Hayabusa lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.

Nanaka shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hayabusa is trying to defend but Nanaka finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Nanaka is taking a breather. Hayabusa says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Nanaka looks for a takedown but Hayabusa sprawls well.

Nanaka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hayabusa quickly recovers to half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Nanaka is on top in guard.

Hayabusa is looking to stand up but Nanaka isn't so interested in that idea.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Nanaka is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Hayabusa throws a hook but Nanaka blocks it.

Nanaka closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Nanaka swings around for an armbar but Hayabusa sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nanaka's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Nanaka's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Nanaka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kitsuomi Nanaka wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Nanaka shoots in looking for a takedown. Hayabusa tries to sprawl out of it but Nanaka keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hayabusa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nanaka shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Nanaka was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Hayabusa is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Nanaka goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Hayabusa turns into him and now he's in Nanaka's guard.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Nanaka closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Nanaka looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Nanaka looks to land a strike but Hayabusa avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Nanaka is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hayabusa wants to stand and escape but Nanaka is having none of it.
Nanaka throws and elbow that misses. Hayabusa uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Nanaka's guard. Nice move by Hayabusa!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Nanaka is looking for submissions but instead, Hayabusa has regained full guard.
Nanaka postures up in Hayabusa's guard and throws a big left but Hayabusa blocks it.
Hayabusa utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kitsuomi Nanaka.
Hayabusa tries a head kick but it misses.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Nanaka decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nanaka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Hayabusa is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Nanaka is controlling him well.
Nanaka creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Hayabusa sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Nanaka just content to control the position.

Nanaka thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hayabusa is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Nanaka has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nanaka, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
