Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Steiner!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Hugh Johnson and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steiner shoots in for a takedown but Buress shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Buress drives through and clinches with Steiner against the cage.
Steiner takes an elbow to the forehead.


It looks like Jason Steiner has been cut.
Steiner on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Buress looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Buress lands an elbow inside that Steiner shrugs off.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Steiner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Buress as he jumps to the side.

The fight stays on the outside here - Buress looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Steiner dives in and grabs Buress's left leg, looking for a takedown. Buress pushes down on Steiner's head and hops out.

Buress rushes Steiner and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Steiner tries to stall but Buress uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Steiner can't get the takedown.
Buress lands an elbow inside that Steiner shrugs off.

Buress has Steiner pressed against the cage.
Steiner has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Buress is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Buress has Steiner pressed against the cage, preventing Steiner from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Steiner is trying to break the clinch but Buress is controlling him.

Buress creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Steiner's defenses.

Buress ducks under a wild hook from Steiner.
Buress wants to clinch up but Steiner keeps it at a distance.
Steiner closes the distance and clinches up with Buress, looking for a takedown. Steiner pushes Buress against the cage but Buress circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Steiner shoots in looking for a takedown but Buress manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Steiner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Steiner shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Buress as he avoids it easily.
Hannibal Buress has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jason Steiner.
Buress moves in looking to clinch but Steiner pushes him off.
Jason Steiner seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Steiner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Buress but Buress pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Buress scores with a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Steiner shoots in for a double leg but Buress sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Buress connects with a leg kick. Steiner looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Buress keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Steiner's efforts to push away.
Steiner tries for a takedown but Buress manages to get underhooks.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
