PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Farr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rich Convex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Farr kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Welsh National Anthem. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Rich Convex!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, William Gold and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Convex.
Farr moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Convex keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Convex shoots in for a takedown but Farr shows good takedown defense.
Farr fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Farr misses with an uppercut.

Farr scores with a jab to the body.
Farr works the jab nicely.
Convex slips a jab from Farr.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Farr's jab looks to have found its range, popping Convex under the eye.

Convex shoots in and bounces Farr off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Convex is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Convex thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Farr knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Convex on the ground.
Convex stands and throws Farr's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Convex is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Farr is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Convex tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Convex has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Convex throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Farr counter with a right hand.
Farr misses with a wild combination.
Convex tries for a takedown but Farr sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rich Convex is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Convex shoots in looking for a takedown. Farr tries to sprawl out of it but Convex keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Farr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Convex shoots in for a takedown but Farr shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Tommy Farr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Convex.

Convex shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Farr as he avoids it easily.
Convex takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Farr keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Convex shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Farr scores with a jab. Convex acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Farr lands a nice shot that snaps Convex's head back.
Convex tries for a takedown but Farr circles away easily
enabling Farr to counter with a crisp jab.

Convex fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Farr lands a head shot.
Farr punishes Convex's body with a nice straight punch.
Farr's corner calls for a 1-2. Farr obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Farr displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Convex.

Convex avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Convex is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Farr.
Farr changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Convex is breathing heavily.
Convex shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Farr connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Convex has his takedown stuffed
and Farr counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Convex.
Farr lands a jab to Convex's midsection.
Convex takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Convex takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Convex throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Convex will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Tommy Farr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rich Convex.

Farr scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Convex needs to keep his hands up - Farr had a free shot at his head there.
The fighters circle momentarily. Farr darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Farr feints a jab promting Convex to slip. Farr then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Convex slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Convex takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Convex throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Farr counters with a series of strikes. Convex will be more careful next time no doubt.
Convex takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Farr ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Farr scores with a jab to the body.
Left hook, right uppercut from Farr.
Rich Convex has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Farr misses with a two punch combination.
Farr lands a head shot.
Convex on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Convex fails with the takedown.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Convex closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tommy Farr showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Farr, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
