Ears with a poor takedown
and Northcote counters with a nice uppercut.

Northcote darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Ears wants to get back to his feet.

Northcote seems to be working for a kimura but Ears defends the submission attempt.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Northcote seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ears does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Northcote is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ears doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Northcote.
Ears really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Northcote. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Ears is trying to stand up here but Northcote is controlling him well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Northcote wants to stand but Ears has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Ears has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Northcote is working away from the top position though.
