Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Lee Vest!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Joe Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Vest throws a lazy uppercut

and Johnson counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Johnson.
Vest looking to control.
Vest on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Vest tries to get out of the position.

Vest pushes Johnson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Johnson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Vest is looking to clinch.
Johnson ducks under a wild hook from Vest.
Vest dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Vest throws a poor cross that misses
and Johnson counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Johnson swings widly with a right hand
and Vest counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Vest swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Vest throws a series of punches but Johnson avoids them all with ease.

Johnson misses with a looping right.
Vest throws a hook to the side of Johnson's head but Johnson sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Vest lands a jab.
Vest scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

and Vest counters with a two punch combo.
Vest tries to close the distance and clinch up but Johnson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Vest swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The crowd cheers as Vest lands an impressive looking overhand right. Johnson doesn't seem phased though.

Vest moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Vest throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Johnson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Vest counters with a straight right hand.
Vest pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Johnson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Vest connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Johnson scrambles back to his feet.
Johnson closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Johnson misses with an uppercut
and Vest counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Johnson thinking.
Vest is looking to clinch but Johnson is avoiding it.
Vest throws a body punch but Johnson moves out of range.
Vest throws a nice looking combination but Johnson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Vest stalks Johnson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Johnson's face. Johnson staggers backwards, shaken.

Left hook, right uppercut from Vest.
Vest lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Vest misses with a few strikes there.
Vest lands a jab to Johnson's midsection.
Vest just misses with a punch to the body.
Lee Vest is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Vest keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Johnson takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Vest throws a hook but Johnson avoids it easily.
Vest misses the shot to the body.
Vest cracks Johnson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Vest ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Johnson moves away.
Vest is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Vest, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
