Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jose Gomez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chad Silver!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomez moves into the clinch.
Gomez stops a takedown attempt from Silver.
Silver has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Gomez regains guard immediately.
Gomez looking for a guillotine here but Silver defends easily.
Gomez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Silver doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Silver manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Silver is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Gomez is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Silver is controlling him.

Gomez lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Silver!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gomez tries to control but Silver wriggling away.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Silver squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Silver defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gomez.

Gomez has control of Silver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Silver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Gomez wants to control the pace but Silver is squirming around nicely.

Gomez swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Silver is now in Gomez's guard. A big mistake from Gomez there, giving up the dominant position!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Silver wants to control from the top but Gomez keeps moving.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Chad Silver will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

and Gomez decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Silver's guard.

Gomez drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Gomez as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Silver screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Gomez! Nice submission victory there!
