The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carmelon throws a shot to the body.
Carmelon misses with a body shot
and Fanning counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Fanning throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Carmelon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fanning counters with a series of strikes. Carmelon will be more careful next time no doubt.

Carmelon doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Fanning connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Fanning ducks right into an uppercut from Carmelon.
Carmelon takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Fanning looks to land a left hand but Carmelon moved out of range nicely.

and Fanning cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

and Fanning counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
