Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Matthew Hosking (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Rosinho (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hosking comes to the cage accompanied by War Machine. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matthew Hosking!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Thiago Rosinho!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Eliza Hachem and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rosinho tries to clinch up
letting Hosking counter with a right hand.
Rosinho tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Rosinho takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rosinho closes the distance looking to clinch
and Hosking cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Hosking throws a left and a right that both miss
and Rosinho finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
Sloppy strikes from Rosinho. Those never looked like landing.

Hosking moves into range and clinches up with Rosinho.
Hosking keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rosinho's efforts to push away.
Rosinho wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Hosking blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Rosinho misses with a knee to the head.
Hosking slowing the pace effectively.
Rosinho swings wildly with an uppercut but Hosking uses good head movement to avoid it.
Rosinho misses with a punch to the body.

Hosking's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hosking looks to land a combination but Rosinho avoids it well.

Rosinho throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Hosking.
Rosinho rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hosking moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

and Hosking counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Rosinho's guard now.
Hosking controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Hosking prevents Rosinho from getting back to his feet.
Hosking wants to stand but Rosinho has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rosinho wants to stand but Hosking is controlling the position.
Rosinho can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Hosking controls the pace.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Matthew Hosking just wasn't active enough.

Rosinho gets tackled into the cage by Hosking. Hosking maintains the clinch.

Rosinho manages to break the clinch.
Hosking misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rosinho closes the distance but Hosking moves to the side

so Hosking counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Hosking stands up and waves to Rosinho to follow him.

and Hosking counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hosking.
Rosinho has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Hosking lands a hook to the side of the head.

Hosking has clasped his hands together around Rosinho's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Hosking is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Rosinho's shoulder. That is not cool.
Hosking moves into full mount!

Rosinho is trying to get back to his feet but can't.
Hosking tries to control but Rosinho wriggling away.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hosking cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hosking sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Rosinho wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Hosking.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Hosking misses with a series of wild punches.
Hosking throws a right and a left that both miss.
Hosking throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rosinho.

and Hosking holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
With the fighters up against the cage, Rosinho throws an elbow but misses.
Rosinho lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Hosking has Rosinho pressed against the cage, preventing Rosinho from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Hosking turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rosinho dodges the ground and pound from Hosking.

Hosking stands up and beckons Rosinho to his feet.
Rosinho is breathing heavily.
Hosking misses with a body kick.

Hosking scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Rosinho tries to keep at a distance but Hosking has taken the fight into the clinch.

Hosking gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Rosinho regains guard.

Hosking stands up and waves to Rosinho to follow him.
Thiago Rosinho is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Rosinho tries to sprawl but Hosking drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hosking is taking a breather. Rosinho says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Hosking tries to pass the half guard into mount. Rosinho knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hosking decides to stand up.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hosking gets a takedown into half guard.
Hosking is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Hosking is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

Hosking gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Hosking shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Hosking was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Hosking postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Rosinho looks a forlorn figure.

Hosking is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Rosinho to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Rosinho shrugs it off.

Hosking is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rosinho can do to turn this around?
Poor strikes thrown by Hosking there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hosking misses with a head shot. Rosinho uses the momentum to regain guard.

Well Hosking has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
