Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Keith Keystone!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, James Howlett!
The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Eliza Hachem and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Howlett fails with the takedown

and Keystone counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Keystone.

Keystone drops back looking for a leg! Howlett is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Howlett manages to kick Keystone off! Keystone jumps back into Howlett's guard.
Howlett wants to stand up but Keystone is controlling him.

Howlett had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Keystone defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Howlett is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Howlett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Keystone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Keystone is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Howlett working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Keystone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Keystone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Howlett looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Keystone passes into half guard.
Howlett is looking to improve his position.
Keystone sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Keystone is trying to control. Howlett wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Howlett trying to hold on to Keystone's head to control him but Keystone postures up.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Howlett has hold of Keystone's hands but Keystone slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Howlett wants to improve his position but Keystone is controlling well.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Howlett gets full guard.
Keystone trying to control the position from guard on top but Howlett is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Howlett escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Keystone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Howlett is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Keystone is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Howlett really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Keystone. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Keystone content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Keystone is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Keystone pushing down on Howlett's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Keystone is looking to take a break and control but Howlett is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Keystone lands a nice short elbow.

Keystone is working for a submission of some sort.
Keystone works his way into side control.
Howlett is looking for a sweep.

Keystone avoids the strikes from the bottom by Howlett.
Howlett is looking to reverse the position.
Howlett is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Keystone is staying tight to Howlett's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Keystone in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Howlett is letting Keystone control him for a moment.

Keystone has control of an arm but Howlett manages to advance to Keystone's back!

and Keystone counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Keystone drops an elbow to the side of Howlett's head.
Keystone scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Keystone throwing shots but Howlett is blocking nicely.
Keystone has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Howlett wants to improve his position but Keystone is controlling well.
Keystone is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Keith Keystone overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Howlett is looking to improve his position.
Howlett strikes from the bottom but Keystone passes into mount!
Keystone in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
