Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Baby Dragonfly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikey Ness (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ness fails with the takedown
and Dragonfly counters with a straight right hand.
Baby Dragonfly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Dragonfly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Ness is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dragonfly is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Ness sees it coming and defends easily.

Dragonfly is stalling here. Ness is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Dragonfly seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Ness has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Dragonfly parries the strikes from Ness easily there. Ness is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Dragonfly to escape.

Ness throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Dragonfly works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Baby Dragonfly overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Ness wants to stand up but Dragonfly has a hold of him and won't allow it.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Dragonfly avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Ness.
Ness is looking to take a break and control but Dragonfly is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ness thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Dragonfly's head.

Dragonfly has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

It looks like Baby Dragonfly has been cut.
Dragonfly shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ness pinned against the cage. Ness gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Ness shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Dragonfly eats them both and turns towards Ness to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ness throws a half hearted mid kick.
Ness shoots in looking for a takedown. Dragonfly tries to sprawl out of it but Ness keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Dragonfly manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Baby Dragonfly has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mikey Ness.
Ness shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Dragonfly as he avoids it easily.

Ness lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Dragonfly is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Ness is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
You can see the frustration on Ness's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Ness is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Dragonfly pulls his head out easily.

Dragonfly is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

I would just about give that final round to Mikey Ness.
