Valentine comes to the cage accompanied by Downtown Swinga 96 by MOP. Gregg Valentine had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Jonathan Paton and Chad Campbell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valentine misses with a lunging right hand
and Mison connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Valentine throws a solid leg kick but Mison takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Valentine.
Valentine throws a body punch but Mison moves out of range.
Valentine catches Mison with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Valentine is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Mison fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Valentine has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mison.
Mison's jab looks to have found its range, popping Valentine under the eye.

and Mison makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Mison is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Valentine had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Valentine tries to score with a low kick but Mison moves his leg out of the way.
Gregg Valentine is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Valentine displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mison throws out the jab.

Mison moves into the clinch.
Valentine lands a body punch - he's looking to wear down Mison.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Mison creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Mison tries to throw a body punch but Valentine avoids it by throwing Mison back against the cage.

With the two fighters working up against the cage, Mison just misses with a elbow thrown towards Valentine's brow.
Still in the clinch, Mison scores with a nice short uppercut.

Valentine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Mison lands with a thumping leg kick.
Valentine's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mison connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Valentine scrambles back to his feet.

Mison throws a lazy uppercut
and Valentine counters with a thumping low kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gregg Valentine will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Tyke Mison's cut.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

Valentine buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Mison shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Mison moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Valentine has worked his arm free - good work by Valentine!

Mison has hold of Valentine's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Valentine seems comfortable defending it but Mison has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Valentine is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Valentine is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but Mison couldn't care less - he's delighted!
