Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Kyle Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frank Saurus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith comes to the cage accompanied by Dragonforce - Through the Fire & the Flames. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith misses with a hook
and Saurus counters with a straight right hand.
Saurus stuns Smith with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

and Saurus holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Saurus misses with a short punch on the inside.
Saurus lands a hook that snaps the head of Smith backwards.
Saurus is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Saurus wants to control from the top but Smith keeps moving.
Saurus is pushing down on Smith's leg trying to pass to half guard. Smith is fighting to maintain full guard but Saurus has managed to sneak the leg through.

Smith's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Saurus has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
