Smirnov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Pulemetov manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Smirnov has Pulemetov in his guard.

Pulemetov got a little sloppy there for a moment and Smirnov has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Pulemetov has managed to get both his arms back between Smirnov's legs - danger averted.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Pulemetov tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Smirnov cranks the arm and Pulemetov screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Pulemetov, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
