The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Seu Braga and Thiago Cunha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sliva, right into the meat.
Oliveira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Nice takedown defense from Sliva. No joy for Oliveira on that attempt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Sliva looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Sliva moves in looking to clinch but Oliveira pushes him off.
Sliva wants to clinch.
Joabe Oliveira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sliva throws a one two combo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oliveira fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sliva avoids it really well and circles away.
Sliva wants to clinch up but Oliveira keeps it at a distance.

Oliveira misses with a hook to the body
and Sliva counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oliveira won't be happy with that.
Sliva stands up and beckons Oliveira to his feet.
Sliva tries to close the distance and clinch but Oliveira swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Oliveira takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Sliva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sliva misses with a takedown attempt - Oliveira sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Oliveira keeps the fight on the outside.
Oliveira keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sliva shoots for a double leg takedown but Oliveira sprawls well. He's pushed Sliva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Anderson Sliva. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Sliva shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
so Oliveira counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sliva is really struggling to control Oliveira but he's trying to hold on to the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Oliveira stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Sliva swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oliveira sitting in guard doing not very much at all here. Sliva doesn't need a second invitation though! He's locked up a guillotine and he's squeezing tight! That is tiiiiiiiiight! Oliveira paying the price for stalling here - he's pushing hard on the arm trying to free himself but it's no use! He's tapped! WOW, quick submission from Sliva - great work!
