Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Isamu The Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smith is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Inside The Fire by Disturbed. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isamu The Shark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Petey Smith!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Chad Campbell and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The Shark has his takedown stuffed
and Smith counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Isamu The Shark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The Shark tries a head kick but it misses.

The Shark shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Smith manages to escape and get back to his feet!
The Shark misses with a jab, cross combination.

Smith shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Smith trying to control the position from guard on top but The Shark is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The Shark knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.

and Smith counters with a shoot takedown. The Shark fights it but they end up in guard.
Smith postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Smith postures up in The Shark's guard and throws a big left but The Shark blocks it.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Smith passes The Shark's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

Smith is working for a submission of some sort.
Smith works his foot free and advances to mount.

Smith is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. The Shark can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
The Shark is wriggling around trying to escape.

Smith is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but The Shark is surviving well by controlling Smith's body position as best he can.

Smith is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so The Shark is just riding it out for now. Smith eventually gives up the hold.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Smith seems to be working for a kimura but The Shark defends the submission attempt.

Smith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The Shark is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Smith is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Smith looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith wants to pass to mount but The Shark is defending the position.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Petey Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
The Shark misses with a takedown attempt

Smith wants to control from the top but The Shark keeps moving.
Smith is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Petey Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.

Smith throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. The Shark tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Smith is in The Shark's guard.
The Shark looking for a sweep. Not yet The Shark, not yet.
Smith slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Isamu The Shark has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Petey Smith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Smith has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
