Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johnny Vegas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and The Bong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vegas comes to the cage accompanied by Don't Stop The Rock by Freestyle. Bong has chosen Hits From The Bong as his entrance music. The Bong has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Vegas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, The Bong!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Arvi Lind and Marco Blurström.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Bong blocks the low kick.
Bong throws a sloppy head kick and Vegas moves out of range easily.
Vegas checks a leg kick.
Bong misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Vegas counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like The Bong has been cut.

Bong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bong is trying to move to mount but Vegas reverses beautifully and ends up in Bong's guard.
Bong wants to sweep but no luck.
Bong controlling the position.
Vegas wants to stand but Bong is controlling his posture from full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bong is on top in guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Bong postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Vegas is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bong, into his guard.
Vegas trying to stand up but can't free himself from Bong's guard.
Bong wants to sweep but no luck.
Bong bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Vegas's guard.

Bong thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bong wants to pass the guard but Vegas is keeping the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bong is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Bong trying to control but Vegas is working from the bottom.

Bong drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Vegas dives on top into guard.
Bong manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Bong wants to control the pace but Vegas is squirming around nicely.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Bong won't let Vegas get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Bong goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Vegas turns into him and now he's in Bong's guard.
Bong has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Vegas has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

OK we're going to have a standup here. The Bong hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Bong closes the distance and pushes Vegas back into the cage.
Vegas throws a punch but it's blocked by Bong.
Vegas blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Bong tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Vegas avoids it.
Vegas tries to break the clinch but Bong is controlling the position.

Bong has Vegas pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Bong pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Vegas tumbling to the mat - Bong dives into Vegas's guard.

Bong drops back, looking for a kneebar! Vegas looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Vegas looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Vegas!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The Bong dominated that round.
The cut man is working on The Bong's cut.
That's time! Vegas's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Bong clinches with his opponent.
Bong can't get the takedown.
A frustrated look appears on Vegas's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Bong jumps guard and drags Vegas to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Vegas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Bong on the ground.
Vegas wants to stand but Bong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Vegas decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Vegas tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Bong manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Bong pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
The Bong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Vegas. Bong does a little dance to reset his feet.
Vegas goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Bong bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Bong taking a break here but Vegas is having none of it and regains half guard.

Bong seems to be working for a kimura but Vegas defends the submission attempt.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vegas looks like he's trying to stand up.

Bong is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Vegas sees it coming and defends easily.
Bong wants to free his trapped foot but Vegas is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Bong is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Vegas is just riding it out for now. Bong eventually gives up the hold.

Bong is looking for a kimura here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Bong stops Vegas from getting back to his feet.

Vegas is wriggling around here but as he tries to escape, Bong has taken his back.
A lull in the action here.
Vegas wants to get back to his feet.

Bong working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Vegas is doing well to defend. Bong seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Vegas is forced to tap and this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). The Bong!
