Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
9 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gruffo Muffo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brooks Staal!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Tiny Johnson and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Staal blocks a head kick by Muffo.
Staal throws a right and a left that both miss.
Staal connects with a crisp jab.
Good leg kick by Muffo there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Muffo bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Muffo steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Staal.
Muffo is looking to score with low kicks.
Staal on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Muffo. Muffo obviously looking to wear him down.
A telegraphed right hand from Staal misses the target.
Gruffo Muffo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Staal throws a right hand that Muffo ducks under and follows up with a left that Muffo also avoids with ease.
Muffo throws a body kick that misses.
Muffo motions for Staal to come forward. Muffo throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Muffo throws a leg kick but Staal checks it.
Staal checks the leg kick nicely there.
Staal lands a nice shot to the body.
Muffo throws a leg kick but Staal moved away.
Jab, jab by Staal - just one landing.
The fighters circling - Staal throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Staal punishes Muffo's body with a nice straight punch.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Muffo thumps Staal with a low kick.
Muffo misses with a kick to the body.
Muffo fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Muffo lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Staal looks gassed!
A slapping body kick lands there for Muffo.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Muffo throws a leg kick which misses Staal's front leg but catches the back leg as Staal tries to avoid it.
Staal has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Muffo.
Muffo lets loose with a powerful body kick. Staal will feel that in the morning.
Crunch! Muffo slams his shin into Staal's torso.
Muffo lands a big head kick that sends Staal tumbling to the mat! Muffo takes a step backwards and waves Staal back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Staal is rocked!
Ohhhhhhhhhh, brutal head kick from Muffo! This one is all over!
