Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ilja Vashuta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drew Skeet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vashuta's entrance music is Грот - Рубежи. A fine choice. Drew Skeet told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Drew Skeet!
The judges for this bout are Illya Tyunina, Igor Prikhodko and Dmitry Maklakov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skeet darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Skeet misses with a wild combination.
Vashuta fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Skeet throws out a loose jab but Vashuta uses good head movement to avoid it.
Skeet stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Skeet wants it to stay on the feet.
Vashuta shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Skeet counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Ilja Vashuta has been cut.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ilja Vashuta. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Vashuta darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Skeet is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Skeet wants to control but Vashuta is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Skeet lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Vashuta falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
