Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Luis Caldas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark McFist (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Luis Caldas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark McFist!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Tarja Halkonen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McFist shoots for a takedown but Caldas saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Caldas shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Caldas showed some decent athleticism there.
Caldas trying to mount his opponent but McFist defends it.
McFist wants to get back to full guard.
Caldas tries to pass the half guard into mount. McFist knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
McFist is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Caldas's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Caldas's back!

McFist looking for the choke but no joy.
You can see the frustration on Caldas's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

McFist is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Caldas knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Caldas for a finish.

McFist working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
McFist looks gassed!

McFist doesn't have the hooks in and Caldas manages to turn into his guard.
Caldas passes McFist's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Caldas is working for a submission of some sort.
Caldas is tying to control. McFist wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Caldas is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McFist doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Caldas.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McFist is trying to get back to full guard.

Caldas is working for a submission of some sort.
McFist regains full guard. Nicely done.

McFist looking for a guillotine here but Caldas defends easily.

McFist looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Caldas has picked McFist up and slammed him! McFist can't keep hold of the triangle and Caldas manages to pass to side control!
McFist manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

McFist is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Caldas has managed to free his arm - good work.

McFist is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
McFist is pressing down on Caldas's thigh, looking to free his foot. Caldas is holding on for now.

Caldas makes his way to full guard, as McFist worked for a kimura.

Caldas looking for submissions from the bottom but instead McFist passes into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
McFist has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Caldas is working to get back to half guard.
Caldas is working hard here to advance position.

Caldas defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from McFist.
Caldas is wriggling around trying to escape.
McFist moves to the back.

Caldas is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Caldas manages to reverse the position and now he's in McFist's guard. Nice work there by Caldas.
Caldas tries to free his leg and advance position but McFist is retaining full guard.
Caldas passes into half guard.
McFist wants to get back to full guard.

Caldas is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Caldas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so McFist is just riding it out for now. Caldas eventually gives up the hold.

McFist looking for submissions off his back.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
McFist is looking to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark McFist dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Caldas fails with the takedown

and McFist counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Caldas is in trouble now - McFist has advanced to mount!

McFist is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by McFist!
