Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Xavier Melendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miguel Quijivix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Melendez comes to the cage accompanied by El Coo Cooi . Quijivix comes into a darkened arena with his song building. In The Morning kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Xavier Melendez had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quijivix lands the left hand.

Quijivix lands a really nice looking cross but Melendez seems unphased.

and Quijivix counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Quijivix scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Melendez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Quijivix is on top in guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

That was a close second round but I would say that Xavier Melendez will probably get the nod.

Melendez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Melendez clobbers Quijivix with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Melendez shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Quijivix but Quijivix pushes him off and we're back to square one.
