With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Andre Galvao!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Galvao misses with a few strikes there.
Perry fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Galvao advances to half guard.
Galvao seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Perry does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Perry is in trouble now - Galvao has advanced to mount!
Galvao should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Galvao lands a big shot there that rocks Perry but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Perry is controlling an arm, preventing Galvao from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Galvao is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Perry can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Galvao wants to pass to mount but Perry is defending the position.
Galvao winds up and cracks Perry with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Galvao seems to be looking for submissions.

Galvao is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Perry defends it well.

Galvao is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Perry is just riding it out for now. Galvao eventually gives up the hold.

Galvao wants to work for an arm triangle but Perry is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Galvao has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Perry defend it? Galvao steps over the head and cranks it - Perry is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Galvao!
