The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Monroe circles away from the clinch attempt.

Shamrock stands up and beckons Monroe to join him on the feet.
Shamrock throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Monroe's waist but Monroe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shamrock off to one side.

Shamrock throws a solid leg kick but Monroe takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Shamrock.
Shamrock fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Shamrock is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Monroe pulls his head out easily.

Shamrock looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Monroe is defending well. Shamrock quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Monroe has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast!
