Silva comes to the cage accompanied by eye of the tiger. Salmon has chosen Heartbeats as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva throws a shot from downtown. Salmon moves away and avoids it.
Silva misses with a looping left.
Silva throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Salmon misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Silva.
James Silva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Silva feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Salmons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

A big right from Silva misses.
Salmon takes a swing at Silva's ribcage but misses.
Silva throws a nice looking combination but Salmon bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Silva will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Salmon lands a lovely overhand right.
Salmon displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Silva throws out the jab.
Silva throws a hook but Salmon avoids it easily.

It looks like James Silva has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Silva throws a left and a right that both miss
and Salmon counters with a nice body shot.
Silva scores with a shot to the body.
Salmon looks to land a left hand but Silva moved out of range nicely.
Salmon connects with a jab.
Silva is breathing heavily.

Salmon drops Silva with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Silva looks back up at him and smiles so Salmon waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Silva is rocked!
Silva is aggressively charging in as Salmon backs up avoiding any damage. Salmon tosses out a jab and Silva runs right into it face first! Silva is out cold! Salmon dropped down on all fours and is barking in Silva's face like a pit bull in celebration until the ref was finally able to pull him away!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:05 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Cleon Salmon!
