Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bowman Rook (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flok Numbers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Rook might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Daughtry-What I Want. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rook closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Numbers drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
A shot to the body from Rook misses
enabling Numbers to counter with a crisp jab.


It looks like Bowman Rook has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rook tries to work over Numbers's front leg with a kick but Numbers checks it.
Numbers scores with a hook to the body. Rook takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Rook throws a combination that misses

and Numbers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rook's guard.
Rook lands a decent shot there.
Numbers controlling from the top position.
Numbers must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Rook could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Numbers stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rook swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Flok Numbers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Numbers moves into the clinch.
Rook lands a nice knee to the body.
Rook wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Numbers has him pressed against the cage.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Numbers can do anything to dispel that myth.

Numbers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Rook defends it easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

and Numbers counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rook is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Numbers is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Rook jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Numbers walks away with a smile on his face. Rook gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Numbers is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Rook knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Rook is rocked!
Numbers stays in close to Rook's body and controls the position.
Rook lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Numbers!

Rook swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Numbers is now in Rook's guard. A big mistake from Rook there, giving up the dominant position!

Flok Numbers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

and Numbers counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Numbers.
Numbers is pushing Rook up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Rook is trying to force a seperation but Numbers has the dominant position.

Numbers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Rook throws a poor cross that misses

and Numbers counters by clinching up.
Rook tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Numbers manages to break the clinch.
Rook misses with a head kick.
Numbers drops Rook with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Rook! Numbers dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Flok Numbers!
