Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire tries to clinch but Aldo is having none of it.
Freire misses with a wild body shot.
Aldo uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Hose Aldo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Freire rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Aldo moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Freire is pressed up against the cage. Aldo has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Freire down to the mat. Freire avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

and Freire counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

It looks like Hose Aldo has been cut.

Aldo gets tackled into the cage by Freire. Freire maintains the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Freire's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Aldo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Freire smiles and moves away.

Freire will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Aldo up against the cage.
Aldo tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Freire just stands there and leans against the cage.
Willamy Freire has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hose Aldo.
Freire is stalling here.
Aldo is working for takedown but Freire is calmly controlling the position for now.
Aldo drops down looking for an ankle pick but Freire pulls his leg out and moves away.
Aldo fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Freire manages to avoid it.

Freire pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Freire forces Aldo back against the cage and clinches.
Freire gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Aldo.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Aldo drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Freire scores with a shot to the side of Aldo's head.
Freire lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Aldo backwards.

Freire's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Aldo takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Aldo has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.

The fight stays on the outside here - Freire looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Freire is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
