Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Julio Vasquel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dawson Creek (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vasquel comes to the cage accompanied by N-17-Hail. Dawson Creek is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dawson Creek!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Luis Engracia and Thiago Cunha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vasquel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Vasquel with a nice cross.
Vasquel throws a nice looking combination but Creek bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Vasquel misses with a body shot.

Creek avoids a punch combination nicely.
Vasquel tries to bum rush Creek with a series of wild strikes but Creek uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Creek tries to move into range but Vasquel moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Vasquel will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Creek dodges the punch combination from Vasquel.

Creek looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Vasquel wants to control but Creek is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Creek takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Creek is looking for a kimura but Vasquel is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Creek to get the leverage.
Creek is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vasquel trying to control from the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Vasquel is looking for a sweep. Creek is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Creek is keen to just control but Vasquel is a slippery customer.
Creek tries to pass the half guard into mount. Vasquel knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Creek performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Vasquel knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Creek on the ground.
Creek uses his free foot to push down on Vasquel's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Vasquel.

Creek has hold of Vasquel's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Vasquel manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Creek is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vasquel has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Creek fails to move to back control.
Vasquel is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Creek wants to control the pace but Vasquel is squirming around nicely.

Creek is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Vasquel has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Vasquel tries to hold on but Creek pushes him away.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Vasquel tries to reverse the position but Creek maintains control.
Vasquel wants to control but Creek is having none of it.
Vasquel is trying desperately to improve position.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vasquel is working hard here to advance position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dawson Creek dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Vasquel goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Creek takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Vasquel's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Vasquel duly obliges.

Creek is still on wobbly legs! Can Vasquel finish him?
Vasquel throws a right and a left that both miss.
Creek seems to have recovered his senses.
Vasquel lands a jab-cross combination.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Vasquel misses the shot to the body.

Vasquel stuffs the takedown attempt from Creek. Creek gets slowly back to his feet.
Julio Vasquel has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dawson Creek.
Vasquel throws a series of punches but Creek moves out of range.
Vasquel fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Creek manages to avoid it.
Vasquel scores with a nice strike.
Creek showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vasquel.
Vasquel throws a right and a left that Creek avoids nicely.

Creek shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Creek was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Creek is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.
Vasquel wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.

Creek sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Creek looking to control but Vasquel is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Vasquel can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Creek trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Creek jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Vasquel is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Vasquel and Creek has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.
Creek is looking to take a break and control but Vasquel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Vasquel is trying to get back to his feet.
Vasquel tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Creek tries to control but Vasquel wriggling away.

Creek goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Vasquel is on top in guard.
Vasquel wants to control from the top but Creek keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Vasquel avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Vasquel trying to control but Creek is working from the bottom.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Vasquel lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Creek at a distance.

Vasquel throws a right hand that Creek ducks under and follows up with a left that Creek also avoids with ease.

Vasquel closes the distance and lands a one-two.

Vasquel lands a hook that stumbles Creek back into the cage. Vasquel follows up with a straight and another hook that land right on the button, dropping Creek to the canvas! Vasquel pounces and lands several unanswered shots - Creek has had enough and taps out! This one is all over!
