Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chris Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Portage!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Decent striking displayed by Jackson there.
Portage on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Jackson misses with a left hand
and Portage counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Jackson misses with a lunging right hand
and Portage connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Portage shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jackson defends it nicely.
Jackson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Jackson getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Jackson lunges at Portage with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Portage's hand.
Jackson connects with a single shot there.
Jackson jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Jackson throws a lazy uppercut
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Jackson swats away the attempt to clinch by Portage.
Jackson goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jackson throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Portage on the side of the head.
Jackson swings away with a body shot that misses

and Portage counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jackson!
Portage looking to control and managing it successfully.

Jackson is working to get back to half guard.
Portage misses with a head shot.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Portage throws a wild left hand from mount and Jackson manages to wriggle his way back to half guard.
Portage is pressing down on Jackson's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jackson is holding on for now.
Jackson trying to get back to full guard but Portage takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Portage swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackson is now in Portage's guard. A big mistake from Portage there, giving up the dominant position!

Jackson drops back, looking for a kneebar! Portage looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Portage looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Portage!
Jackson avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Portage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Portage stands up and beckons Jackson to his feet.

Portage tries to keep at a distance but Jackson has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jackson stops a takedown attempt from Portage.
Portage tries to circle away but Jackson has him pinned against the cage.
Jackson working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Still in the clinch, Jackson scores with a nice short uppercut.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Justin Portage will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.



Portage gets the takedown into side control.
Jackson is looking to reverse the position.
Portage tries to move into full mount but can't pass Jackson's legs.
Jackson regains half guard.

Portage wants to work for an arm triangle but Jackson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Jackson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Portage is stalling here. Jackson is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Portage seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jackson has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Jackson has control of an arm but Portage manages to advance to Jackson's back!
Jackson trying to control the action but Portage just sinks the hooks in.

Portage is looking for a rear naked choke here but Jackson reverses the position brilliantly into Portage's guard!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Jackson pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Portage is keeping the position for now.
Jackson trying to control but Portage is working from the bottom.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jackson drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Portage dives on top into guard.

Jackson looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Jackson trying to keep a closed guard but Portage is proving a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Portage content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Jackson has locked up a guillotine! Jackson's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Portage is holding on here and Jackson must be using up a lot of energy. Portage has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Jackson gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:37 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Chris Jackson!
