The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mickles wants to clinch
and Jakeson counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Chris Mickles has been cut.
Sloppy strikes from Mickles. Those never looked like landing.
Mickles lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Mickles rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Jakeson cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Mickles throws out a powerful jab.

Jakeson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mickles sprawls well initially but Jakeson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Jakeson is pressing down on Mickles's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mickles is holding on for now.
Jakeson is keen to just control but Mickles is a slippery customer.
Jakeson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Mickles on the ground.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The fighters are battling for position here. Mickles manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Jakeson has gone for a leg lock! Mickles slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jakeson's guard.
Jakeson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Mickles is one step ahead there.
Mickles wants to control from the top but Jakeson keeps moving.

Mickles is looking to stand up but Jakeson won't let him.

Mickles is pushing down on Jakeson's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jakeson is fighting to maintain full guard but Mickles has managed to sneak the leg through.
Mickles passes the guard and advances to mount!
Mickles tries to stand up but he's trapped just for the moment.
