Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Montel Calchas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mikka Korvaleinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Calchas comes to the ring accompanied by Flipsyde-Someday. Mikka Korvaleinen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korvaleinen misses with a takedown attempt
and Calchas counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Calchas lands with a slapping head kick.
Mikka Korvaleinen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Calchas tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

and Korvaleinen counters with a shoot takedown. Calchas fights it but they end up in guard.
Calchas wants to stand and escape but Korvaleinen is having none of it.
Korvaleinen passes Calchas's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Korvaleinen working over Calchas with some ground and pound. Calchas looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Calchas is looking to get back to is feet but Korvaleinen passes into side control.

Korvaleinen is looking to take a break and control but Calchas is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Calchas is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the ropes but Korvaleinen has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Calchas on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Calchas tries to get out of the position.

Korvaleinen is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Korvaleinen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Calchas looks calm but he's in trouble here. Korvaleinen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Calchas is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Korvaleinen lets go of the hold and Calchas can pop his arm back in it's socket.
