Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and I Shiv (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shiv has chosen Let's Fighting Love as his entrance music. Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A slapping leg kick lands for Shiv.
Shiv throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Shiv throws a solid leg kick but Paul takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Shiv.
Shiv scores with a shot to the body.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Paul crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Shiv - the referee stops the clock and Paul gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Shiv. Paul manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Shiv explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Shiv throws a wild body kick that Paul sees coming a mile off.
That kick from Shiv tenderised Paul's leg. Paul is trying to keep his angry face on.
Shiv throws a quick inside leg kick.

Shiv has taken the fight to the clinch.
Shiv gets through Paul's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Shiv lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shiv lands a shoulder strike.
A right hand to the body from Shiv.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Paul wants to break free but Shiv has control.
Shiv landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Shiv keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Paul's efforts to push away.
Shiv tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Paul wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Shiv cracks Paul with a nice body shot.

Shiv breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

A solid leg kick lands there for Shiv.
Paul has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shiv.
Paul takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Shiv fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Paul tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Shiv throws a front kick that sends Paul stumbling back into the cage.

Shiv closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Paul wants to get back to striking at distance but Shiv won't allow it.
A short body shot lands from Shiv as the two fighters clinch.
Shiv lands with a light punch inside.
Shiv lands an elbow that stopped Paul in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like John Paul has been cut.
Paul managing to block the knees to the body from Shiv.
A battle for position here, against the cage.

A nice left hand lands by Shiv.
Shiv throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Pauls head.
Paul's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Paul is trying to push Shiv away but Shiv has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Shiv works on Paul's body with a couple of short punches.
Shiv lands a right hand.
Shiv lands with a light punch inside.
Shiv is pushing Paul up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Shiv lands a body punch.
Shiv is leaning against Paul and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Shiv lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Paul wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Paul trying to control the position but instead, Shiv has worked for underhooks and has pushed Paul into the cage.
Shiv scores with a nice hook to the head.
Paul has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Paul is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Shiv keeps control of Paul as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Shiv creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Shiv effectively controlling the action here.
Paul blocking some punches.
Paul has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Paul working hard to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Shiv slips under a jab.
Paul is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.
Paul throws a jab but it's blocked by Shiv.

Paul tries to keep at a distance but Shiv has taken the fight into the clinch.

Shiv lands a nice shot to the body.

Shiv lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Paul backwards.

Paul is rocked!
Shiv swings away with an uppercut that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shiv doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Shiv escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shiv is looking to slow Paul down with leg kicks.
Paul throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Paul on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Paul moves out of range of the body kick from Shiv.
Paul throws a poor cross that misses
and Shiv counters with a straight right hand.
Oh Paul is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shiv cracks Paul with a hook to the temple - Paul is on wobbly legs here! Shiv swarms him with hook after hook, landing with each one! Paul falls to the canvas face first and the referee dives in to stop the fight! Shiv wins by TKO!
