The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson stuffs the takedown attempt from Bonn. Bonn gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Jackson. No joy for Bonn on that attempt.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Bonn wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.

Michael Bonn has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Jackson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Bonn was well out of range. Poor timing from Jackson.
Jackson jabs Bonn right on the nose. Bonn blinks but takes it well.
Jackson looks to score with a jab to the body but Bonn is just out of range.
Daverge Jackson is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bonn avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Bonn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jackson lands a nice hook to Bonn's body. Bonn takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Daverge Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

Bonn misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Jackson rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Bonn counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Bonn steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jackson.
Bonn shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Bonn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Bonn takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Bonn drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Jackson fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

and Jackson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Jackson looks to throw the jab but Bonn is out of range.
Jackson lands with a shot to the body.

and Jackson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson jabs Bonn to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Jackson lands a really nice looking cross but Bonn seems unphased.
Jackson connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Jackson is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Bonn had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Jackson lands a jab to Bonn's midsection.
Bonn takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Oh Bonn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Bonn tries to get into range but Jackson steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Bonn! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Jackson scores the big KO victory!
