Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kaina Correa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and aReNa GareNa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Correa tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. GareNa manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Correa displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from GareNa.

and Correa counters with a nice uppercut.
GareNa tries a low kick but Correa avoids it.
GareNa keeps the fight on the outside.
GareNa shoots in looking for a takedown. Correa tries to sprawl out of it but GareNa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Correa manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
GareNa changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Correa tries to avoid it but GareNa manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Correa to the ground. Correa escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

GareNa jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Correa walks away with a smile on his face. GareNa gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
GareNa looks to score with a jab to the body but Correa is just out of range.

and Correa counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Correa winds up and cracks GareNa with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

GareNa really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Correa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Correa is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. GareNa can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

GareNa is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Correa has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. GareNa is looking to defend but Correa has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for GareNa! Correa pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, GareNa taps out and this one is all over!
