Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Vanya Savin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Percy Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Percy Evans enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Vanya Savin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Percy Evans!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Gregory Folan and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Evans throwing strikes here but Savin is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Savin is trying to escape the mount.
Savin avoids a series of strikes thrown by Evans.

Evans stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Evans shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Savin manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Evans looking to pass the guard.
Savin controls Evans momentarily but Evans frees himself.
Evans postures up in Savin's guard and throws a big left but Savin blocks it.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Evans accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Evans has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Evans trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Evans connects with a couple of short punches.

Savin had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Evans defends it easily.
Evans throwing strikes but missing.
Savin is trying to keep Evans in close.

Savin is looking for a triangle but Evans pushes his legs off easily.
Savin wants to stand and escape but Evans is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Savin is breathing heavily.
Evans working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Evans is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Savin has momentary wrist control but Evans slips an elbow through the middle.
Evans throwing strikes but missing.

Evans drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Savin manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Evans has Savin in his guard.

Evans has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Savin off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Evans shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Evans closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Savin dodges the ground and pound from Evans.
Evans sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Savin is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Percy Evans has got the better of the ground game so far.

Evans goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Savin rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Evans's guard! Nice work there by Savin!

Savin is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Evans pulls his head out easily.
Evans looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Savin with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Savin kicks Evans off and gets back to his feet.
Nice sprawl there from Evans as Savin shoots in.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Savin fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Evans avoids it really well and circles away.

Evans takes the fight into the clinch.

Evans wants the takedown. Savin is fighting it off but Evans persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Savin's guard against the cage.
Savin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Evans lands a couple of digs.

Evans drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Savin dives on top into guard.
Savin wants to control from the top but Evans keeps moving.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Percy Evans showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Evans is trying to trip Savin. He has hold of a leg but Savin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Evans persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Percy Evans comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Evans has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
