Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jack Lawson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Nathan Bowman!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Wagner Zegers and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bowman fails with the takedown
and Lawson counters with a stiff right hand.
Lawson throws out a loose jab but Bowman uses good head movement to avoid it.

Bowman shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Lawson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Bowman connects with a couple of short punches.
Bowman working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Bowman trying to control the position from guard on top but Lawson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bowman trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Bowman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bowman thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Lawson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Bowman is working Lawson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Bowman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lawson dives on top into guard.

Bowman looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Lawson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bowman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lawson has managed to get both his arms back between Bowman's legs - danger averted.

Lawson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bowman trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!

Bowman looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Lawson throws and elbow that misses. Bowman uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Lawson's guard. Nice move by Bowman!

Lawson not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Bowman drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bowman jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lawson keeping moving, preventing Bowman from controlling successfully.

Bowman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Bowman works a leg free and moves into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nathan Bowman dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Bowman working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Lawson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Bowman is tightening it up a little... Lawson has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Lawson reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Lawson taps out! nice BJJ there by Bowman!
