Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Vatali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Juan DeMarco (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
DeMarco throws a sloppy head kick and Vatali moves out of range easily.
DeMarco checks a low kick from Vatali.
DeMarco throws a head kick that half lands.
It looks like Joe Vatali has been cut.
DeMarco throws an overhand right that lands on Vatali's shoulder, as Vatali tries to avoid the shot.
Vatali closes the distance and pushes DeMarco back into the cage.

DeMarco throws an elbow but it misses.
DeMarco tries to break the clinch but Vatali is controlling the position.
DeMarco tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Vatali lands a right hand that snaps the head of DeMarco backwards.

Vatali is pressed up against the cage. DeMarco has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Vatali down to the mat. Vatali avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

The referee asks Vatali politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vatali prefers to stall for the moment though.
DeMarco is looking to regain half guard here but Vatali keeps moving and retains side control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Vatali throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around DeMarco's waist but DeMarco gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Vatali off to one side.

DeMarco is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Vatali lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear DeMarco down.
DeMarco is not content to let Vatali control the position.

Vatali goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, DeMarco has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Vatali but great work by DeMarco.
DeMarco is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Vatali knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Vatali tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but DeMarco wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

DeMarco is pressing down on Vatali's thigh, looking to free his foot. Vatali is holding on for now.
Vatali is looking for a sweep. DeMarco is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Vatali is working hard here to advance position.
Vatali makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Vatali.
DeMarco in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Vatali is on top in guard.
Vatali wants to control from the top but DeMarco keeps moving.
DeMarco is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Vatali is pressing down on DeMarco's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Vatali is looking to sinch up a triangle. DeMarco throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Vatali's body to avoid the submission. Vatali has instead reached around DeMarco's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Vatali arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
