PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Devon Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Rai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Walker kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Requiem for a dream. Aaron Rai is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Devon Walker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aaron Rai!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good exchange - Rai coming out on top.
Walker misses with a takedown
and Rai counters with a nice uppercut.
Walker shoots and misses
and Rai counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

and Rai counters by moving into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Devon Walker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Rai goes for a takedown in the clinch but Walker prevents it.

Rai is trying to trip Walker. He has hold of a leg but Walker is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Rai persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

That was a close second round but I would say that Devon Walker will probably get the nod.
