Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ed Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Josh Koscheck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Josh Koscheck looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ed Silva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Josh Koscheck!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Paulo Santos and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koscheck with a poor takedown
enabling Silva to counter with a crisp jab.
Koscheck with a lazy takedown attempt
and Koscheck takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Silva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Koscheck but Koscheck pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Koscheck shoots and misses
and Silva counters with a head kick. That will keep Koscheck thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Ed Silva has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Josh Koscheck.

Koscheck gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Koscheck swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Koscheck can do anything to dispel that myth.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ed Silva just wasn't active enough.

Silva looks to land a combination. Koscheck sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silva tries to stand and escape but Koscheck is controlling the position.
Koscheck desperately trying to maintain half guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Koscheck is trying to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
It looks like Silva is going to stand back up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

and Silva counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Koscheck thinking.

Silva has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Koscheck avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Koscheck can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Koscheck looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Koscheck is breathing heavily.
Silva wants to control from the top but Koscheck keeps moving.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Silva closes the distance and clinches.

Silva has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Koscheck regains guard immediately.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva wants to control from the top but Koscheck keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Silva is pressing down on Koscheck's thigh, looking to free his foot. Koscheck is holding on for now.
Koscheck is refusing to be controlled, as Silva sits in half guard.

Koscheck tries to roll over but Silva keeps him under control.
Silva wants to take a breather but Koscheck is having none of it.

Well Silva has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
