Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Peter Parker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Floyd Maydugo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maydugo is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Calogero / Passi - Face à la mer . The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parker doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Maydugo counters with a stiff right hand.

It looks like Peter Parker has been cut.
Maydugo takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Parker tries to close the distance and clinch up but Maydugo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Parker is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Parker closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Maydugo to the mat! Maydugo manages to get full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Parker wants to get up but he can't break Maydugo's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Maydugo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Parker defends well.
Maydugo controls Parker momentarily but Parker frees himself.

Parker wants to control from the top but Maydugo keeps moving.

Parker drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Parker jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Maydugo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Parker doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Parker manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Parker is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
