Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Nick Sanfillipo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yngwie Malmsteen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Malmsteen's choice of entrance music: I am a viking. Nick Sanfillipo has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Nick Sanfillipo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Yngwie Malmsteen!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Tiny Johnson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malmsteen misses with a two punch combination.
Malmsteen misses with a wild combination.
Malmsteen misses with a low kick.
Malmsteen throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Sanfillipo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Malmsteen defends it nicely.
Malmsteen sizes up Sanfillipo with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Sanfillipo fails to land the takedown.
Sanfillipo on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Sanfillipo shoots in for a double leg but Malmsteen sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Malmsteen bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Sanfillipo's head.

Malmsteen throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Malmsteen stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Yngwie Malmsteen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Sanfillipo drives through and clinches with Malmsteen against the cage.

Malmsteen has picked Sanfillipo up - he's going for a ride! Malmsteen dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Malmsteen tries to stand and escape but Sanfillipo is controlling the position.

Malmsteen stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Sanfillipo to get to his feet.

Sanfillipo is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Malmsteen can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Malmsteen has his feet on Sanfillipo's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Sanfillipo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Malmsteen moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Malmsteen lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Sanfillipo counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Sanfillipo is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Malmsteen.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Sanfillipo changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malmsteen looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Malmsteen is not content to let Sanfillipo control the position.
Sanfillipo tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Malmsteen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Sanfillipo has just dragged him back down to the mat.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sanfillipo tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Sanfillipo has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Sanfillipo has hold of Malmsteen's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Malmsteen tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Sanfillipo cranks the arm and Malmsteen screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Malmsteen, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Nick Sanfillipo!
