Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lance Ewan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brandon Midway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Midway shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Ewan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

and Midway counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Ewan is trying to keep Midway in close.
Ewan has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Midway slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ewan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Midway is trying to control. Ewan wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Midway seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Ewan does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Midway might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Ewan kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
