Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Robert Bobson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Royce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Bobson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Royce Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Bobson as Gracie shoots in.
Gracie blocks a low kick nicely.
Royce Gracie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bobson misses with a wild body shot.
Gracie throws a nice looking combination but Bobson bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gracie fails with the takedown.
Bobson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.
A combination from Gracie does no damage.
Bobson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bobson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bobson defending well as Gracie loads up on a big left hand.
Bobson attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gracie throws a hook but Bobson blocks it.
Bobson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a stiff right hand.
Gracie throws the left hand but Bobson avoids the punch easily.
Gracie fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gracie lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Bobson backs up against the cage.
Bobson stuffs the takedown.
Robert Bobson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Royce Gracie.
Gracie misses with an attempted mid kick.

Gracie throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bobson.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Bobson is desperately trying to improve his position but Gracie has a good base and remains in mount.
Bobson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Bobson is doing well to control the position and prevent Gracie from advancing to side control.
Bobson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Gracie thows a big elbow that misses.
Bobson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Bobson is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Robert Bobson just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.
Gracie lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gracie.

and Gracie counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Bobson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Gracie digs a good body shot into Bobson's ribs.

Gracie throws a right and a left that both miss.

Gracie gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Bobson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Bobson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Gracie will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

The referee asks Bobson politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Bobson prefers to stall for the moment though.

That was a close round but I would say that Robert Bobson will probably get the nod.

Gracie gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Bobson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Bobson keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Gracie's head.

Bobson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Bobson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Gracie looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Gracie swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Bobson is now in Gracie's guard. A big mistake from Gracie there, giving up the dominant position!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Robert Bobson showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bobson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
