The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sprecht ducks straight into an uppercut from Mercado and tumbles to the canvas! It’s a flash knockdown though - Sprecht maanges to regain guard straight away.

It looks like Gunther Sprecht has been cut.
Mercado is looking to stand up but Sprecht won't let him.
Sprecht looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Mercado puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Mercado prevents Sprecht from improving his position.
Mercado wants to stand up but Sprecht has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Sprecht is trying to get back to full guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Sprecht tries to clinch up but Mercado circles away and keeps his distance.
Mercado throws a right and a left that Sprecht avoids nicely.

Mercado throws a series of punches but Sprecht avoids them all with ease.
Sprecht uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mercado.
Mercado lands with a precision combination! Left, right, uppercut and Sprecht falls flat on his face, eyes wide open but he's out!
