The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jebic looks to throw a body kick
and Jebic takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Maia misses with a takedown attempt

and Jebic decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Maia's guard.
Jebic must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Jebic has gone for a leg lock! Maia slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jebic's guard.
Jebic has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Maia sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jebic's guard.
Jebic slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Maia slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Maia wants to control from the top but Jebic keeps moving.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Damian Maia just wasn't active enough.
Jebic tries to clinch but Maia is having none of it.

Maia keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jebic darts in and clinches Maia up against the cage.

Maia works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Maia is really struggling to control Jebic but he's trying to hold on to the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Damian Maia wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Jebic fails with the takedown

and Maia counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Maia drops back looking for a leg! Jebic is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jebic manages to kick Maia off! Maia jumps back into Jebic's guard.

Maia drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Maia seems to have locked his on tight now - Jebic screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Maia, as he picks up the win!
